Introduction:

1,3-Dihydroxyacetone (DHA), known chemically as 1, 3-dihydroxy-2-acetone, is a popular cosmetic ingredient that moisturizes skin, self-tanning and dyes hair.

Application:

Dihydroxyacetone is mainly used as the formula raw material of cosmetics, especially as a sunscreen with special effect, can prevent excessive evaporation of skin moisture, play the role of moisturizing, sunscreen and ultraviolet radiation. In addition, the ketone functional group in DHA can react with the amino acid and amino groups of skin keratin to form a brown polymer, which produces an artificial brown color in people's skin, so it can also be used as a sun-tanning agent, resulting in brown or tan skin that looks the same as the result of prolonged exposure to the sun, making it look very beautiful.
