Characteristic

White or colorless crystal. Boiling point 344℃, melting point >31℃, relative density 0.9135-0.9200, refractive index 1.482-1.483, soluble in 95% ethanol and oil. Animal aroma, warm sweet civet, slightly musky aroma, extremely powerful, can spread, extremely long lasting.

Application

1. It is used as a very useful fixing agent in the essence of plain orchid heart, Oriental flavor, citrus cologne and many flower flavors, such as jasmine, alba, daffodil, rose and so on. Can be well coordinated with Chemicalbook floral, aldehyde, plain heart orchid, Oriental and animal aromas. It is an indispensable spice for the preparation of artificial civet fragrance, and the general dosage is 1%-2%.


2. Used as a musk substitute. It has a strong ability to fix the aroma and is often used as a fixing agent. For the blending of high-grade fragrances, the amount in perfumes is 0.04-0.4%, the amount in balms and lotions is 0.003-0.02%.
